I have learned a lot from painting with oils. It’s a slow and meticulous process, but in the same breath, forgiving. It gives me time to think about the values I perceive and what I manage to transfer to the canvas. It makes me consider the planes and shapes of light and dark, how that interplay builds everything we perceive in our world.
